Thanksgiving Trip

What a wonderful Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for. We were able to make a trip to Amarillo, by way of Dallas. As you can see, our Dallas trip was amazing because we finally got to meet precious Parker Ann. One of my best friends Kelli became a mother about 3 months ago to this sweet girl, and she and Joe Dan are amazing parents. I love the shot with Will reading to Nathaniel and Parker Ann.

I think Nathaniel scared her here.

First morning in Amarillo was cold, so Mimi bought N this bear hat.

My parents dog door was exciting to Nathaniel, who would crawl halfway out and get stuck.

One of our fun afternoon trips to the park.

Thanksgving morning - cooking with Granddad.

Reading with Uncle Les.

The big meal.

A beautiful Thanksgiving afternoon to play outside.

He loves Aunt Hillary's dogs. Is still talking about them.

Thanks to everyone! We had a fantastic time!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had to show off the cute Indian and Pilgrim hats Nathaniel made at school. They really do the cutest crafts there.

And a random pictures from the other night of the tower that the boys built.

Chew, chew, chew

I have been meaning to post this story for a while, but I keep forgetting. When Nathaniel eats, he usually takes big bites, so I remind him to "chew, chew, chew." Now if he takes a big bite, he looks at me, points at his mouth and says "chew, chew, chew." :)

This morning he ate his oatmeal all by himself. He's fine at putting the spoon loaded with food into his mouth, but I think he has just now gotten the hang of scooping. This will make my life so much easier!

And now a story from school. On Tuesday, I went to pick up Nathaniel, and as usual, he wants to point out his friends to me and call them by name. When he got to one little boy, he said his name and signed "grumpy." His teacher asked what the sign meant. So I had to tell her the truth, and I asked if Nathaniel was grumpy in hopes she wouldn't notice he was calling another little boy grumpy. But she got the point, and said that yes, Nathaniel was correct, his friend had been grumpy today. I apologized, and hoped it wouldn't happen again. But today when I picked him up, he informed me the same little boy was grumpy again (in front of his teachers). This little boy is a cryer, but I do feel bad for him. At least Nathaniel is good at telling me the truth (although I had this one figured out without his help).

Last story - I had a few leftover red grapes for Nathaniel after he had eaten a good dinner, but I guess he noticed that I had purchased a new bag of green grapes from the store. He informed me he wanted the green grapes and not the red. What a character! I'm glad he knows what he likes though.

Just had to share a few stories, because he's been so much fun lately. Enjoy!

Mail for Nathaniel

We found a box on the porch today when we got home from Nathaniel's school. I told Nathaniel he had a present, and he was very excited. Inside he found some new shoes, and instantly wanted to put them on.

And new Christmas pjs in the box too!

Or they could be a hat. :)

Thanks Nana! I didn't think there could be any shoes cuter than his little blue shoes that you got, but these might be cuter.

Zoo Trip

A couple of Saturdays ago, Will and Hans were working on the fence, so Beth & I took the kids to the zoo. The weather was beautiful, and we had a great time. First up was the sea lion, and I must admit it was one of my favorites.

Izzy's favorite, the meerkats.

So much fun! Now Will wants to go the next time, instead of fixing the fence. I don't blame him . . .

A Few Cute Shots

Just a few good shots from some play-doh playing the other day.
