Happy Halloween!

Today he had the costume parade at school. Here are a few shots in their classroom before the parade.

And now for the class party. They got to decorate their own cookies.

Every student has to bring something to put on the color posters each month. Bet you can't guess which one was Nathaniel's.

Festivals and Fun

Sunday night we went to the fall festival at Nathaniel's school with some of his friends. As you can tell, we are a train engineer this year. Here are my attempts at getting a group shot.

Here we are on the way to a Halloween/Birthday party with friends. We did not travel in his costume because I was afraid he would get too hot.

Here he is playing at the park.

The fort he built for Otis the other day.

And it's time to eat dinner on the patio again . . . such a beautiful evening.

Growth Chart

My sweet boy has been growing so much . . . an inch just in the past month. I took a picture of the growth chart so the grandparents can see.

I have again asked my sweet boy to stop growing, but he has told me no. :)

A Few Old Shots

Will sent me a few pictures from his phone for the blog. A couple of these are old, but so cute I had to include them.

This first one has a story behind it. I let Nathaniel choose a birthday gift for Will this year. He decided on a hot wheels car. We looked through a huge bin of them. I saw several sports cars I thought Will would like. But Nathaniel was convinced that Daddy would like the ratmobile. Yes, it's a car that looks like a mouse. Nathaniel was especially impressed with the mouse's whiskers. He thought the mouse car was just cool in general. He was very proud of it. I know this present will be remembered forever. :)

A close-up of the ratmobile.

Mohawk styling. He thought he was a "smooth operator" like Uncle Shelby.

We go to the library a lot. Here we are reading some books together. And one of the most spoiled dogs in the world.

I have no idea what they were doing in the garage here. Looks like fun.

Otis. Hiding under sheets while I put fresh sheets on the bed.

Will found Annie hiding here one morning. Guess she needed a comfortable place to rest.

No idea what the boys are doing here.

How we found him during his Sunday afternoon nap.

Best Artist Ever

Nathaniel drew this picture earlier this week. The person on the right is me (Mommy). I am pulling Nathaniel on a sled. I was pretty impressed!

The Raccoon

Today the weather was perfect. So for lunch I made a picnic and we went to the park to play. While Nathaniel and I ate lunch, we had a visitor. This guy.

Nathaniel was excited because he had never seen a raccoon before, and upset because he did not want the raccoon to eat his sandwich. This raccoon was not shy AT ALL, he kept coming right up to us to get food. I had to stomp my feet and shake my bag and yell to get it to leave.

So it finally left us alone to do some dumpster diving:

Too bad Otis wasn't with us, he could have really scared this guy off!

Carvey

Yesterday I picked up Nathaniel from school, and his teacher told me that Nathaniel's pumpkin name was picked for their class pumpkin. I asked him what it was, and he said, "Carvey. Because it was carved."

What a creative streak! Will and I both told him how proud we were of him. He seemed quite pleased with himself.

Fall Fun

We've been having a fun fall, and really enjoying the cooler weather. The first couple of pictures are from a birthday party at our neighbor's.

Our neighbor did an amazing job of painting his face. Nathaniel was disappointed that we had to go home for bath and wash it right off. This morning he tried to paint his face using the new Halloween colors that Mimi and Granddad sent him. It didn't work so well.

He wanted me to take some pictures of him as he ate lunch with his friends.

And we've done lots and lots of bike riding.

You can even see the golden leaves on the driveway. We love fall!
