Saturday Fun

Today was a big day - we converted Nathaniel's crib to a toddler bed. Of course, I cried. I can't believe my baby is that old. And we called it a big boy bed, but Nathaniel has decided it is a little boy bed. He says Daddy and I are big and he is small. Well, he is a genius because he already understands proportions. Here are some pics:

The one before this pic didn't show up - it was blurry from N jumping. Will is lecturing him now on not jumping.

Once I saw the cardboard that had been covering his new rails, I knew it would be a perfect canvas for an art project. I drew some railroad tracks and we all painted a town scene.

It was actually a lot of fun. When it's either too hot to go outside or the mosquitoes will eat you alive, you come up with fun things to do indoors.

Bathtime. And I had his hair cut short a week ago. It grows this quickly.

Enjoy your Saturday! We sure did. If you're wondering how the new bed went, well he probably got out of bed about 15 times before he fell asleep for his nap. Will went in to check once it got quiet and found Nathaniel asleep in his red chair with his face in his Bible. Guess he was doing some reading. I'm a little scared about how tonight will go. We'll see.

A Few New Things

Will and I took Nathaniel for a fun trip to the mall last Friday and we let him go to Build-a-Bear. Why? Because we love him and we can spoil him if we want to.

Out of all of the animals, he picked a bunny. He and bunny have become fast friends. Here he is telling us that Bunny needs to eat.

Yesterday morning he had some really crazy hair.

Luckily he has no idea how to turn the tv on yet!

And a great surprise, Neena sent some sandals in the mail. He loved them. In fact, he screamed when I had to take them off before his nap.

He looks like such a big boy!

Random Summer Fun

These are some fun pictures from the summer. One day he lined his little trains up for Annie. She wasn't as impressed as Nathaniel but put up with the trains.

This is why I sometimes have difficulty getting the laundry done.

Beth had some pumpkins in her garden, so she was sweet enough to give one to Nathaniel. He had a blast painting the pumpkin!

Can you see the red paint on his hands?

Today at Gymnastics

Today we were supposed to be throwing some small balls back and forth to each other, and Nathaniel got up and ran to the plastic bin that holds all of the balls. He put it on his head as a hat and ran back to me to resume playing ball.

The teacher saw what he did, as well as the other moms, and they just died laughing. His teacher was nice and said he was a very creative thinker. I told her that was pretty much Nathaniel, in a nutshell.

He was the only kid to say his name out loud  and introduce himself when we went around in a circle (the others were too shy).

He loves his gymnastics class so much. Everyone comments on what a happy boy he is!

The only downside from today is that I have a fat lip from when I didn't get out of the way of a tumbling Nathaniel fast enough. It just goes with the territory. :)

Remaining Amarillo Photos

Figured I'd better wrap the pictures from this trip up. Saved some good ones for last - playground time with Aunt Hillary and Uncle Shelby and watering the beans with granddad.

Fun in Amarillo - Day 2

Some pictures from day 2 of our trip. We had a morning visit to the playground, then some tricycle riding and playing in the dirt. In the afternoon, my parents took Nathaniel to Wonderland, an amusement park in Amarillo. Nathaniel is a ride junkie. He loved all of it!

I wish he didn't look so serious in this picture, but he really did have a great time. Thanks again Mimi and Granddad!
