Last weekend we went to the Spina Bifida bowl-a-thon and bowled for our good friend Brooklyn Beaver. The Beavers had to unexpectedly move their vacation around, so unfortunately they couldn't make it. Next year they'll be back though! It was really an uplifting day and we met many wonderful people.
Here is a picture of Brooklyn that was on our fundraising page - too precious!
Now onto the bowl-a-thon pics . . .
This girl was sweet and smiled at Nathaniel a lot.
She had some really cool wheels but it's hard to see them in this pic I took.
They were purple and green.
Random bowling action
More warm-up shots (we missed warm-up,
so maybe that's why my game was so terrible).
Our new friend Anthony who bowled in the lane next to us. He was so cute!
I was tempted to take him home with me so he could be Nathaniel's big brother.
This could be the other reason my game was so bad - the person attached to me.
He loved the bowling ball and kept reaching out and touching it.
Kendra said he was really excited about it.
Ready to bowl!
Our friends Robert and his son Levi bowling with us.
I love the big flag in the background of this shot.
Aiden bowled on the other lane next to us. He was adorable also!
He got a prize for being the youngest bowler.
Levi at it again - he had a great time bowling. He also slipped on the oil, which was really funny.
But he's smart, after that he ran right up to the lane, but wouldn't step on it again.
Aiden in action.
Anthony in action. I congratulated him on several strikes. Unfortunately he could not do the same for me - I mostly threw gutter balls. I think Anthony actually beat everyone around us pretty handily.
Aiden in action with his dad.
This would have been a great shot if my normally photogenic son had his eyes open.
The funny thing is Will and I are usually the ones blinking or looking away!
A shot of Team Brooklyn. We had a great time. We missed you Beavers!
You can tell the boys are getting tired here and about to lose it - it was time to hit the road.
Overall more than $17,000 was raised for The Spina Bifida Association of Houston Gulf Coast*. What a great experience we had. Next year we'll do shirts, of course. Already planning them out. Thanks for recommending this Jodi!
*Funds raised will pay for a variety of programs and services that we offer including a summer camp for children and young adults with spina bifida, new parent contact services, educational scholarships, health & education conferences, and many others.
