We have so many funny conversations each day, but I rarely have a chance to write any down.
- A couple of weeks ago, we were coloring with markers and then I notice Nathaniel is making orange dots on his foot. I ask what he is doing, and he tells me he's making freckles.
-This morning he was playing with a friend with his Noah's Ark little people, and I heard him exclaim "No, leave the roof (of the ark) open! They have to get out of the ark to see the rainbow!" So cute.
-We were shopping at Kroger and while I ordered some lunch meat, he picked up a carton of cubed cheese to ask me if we could buy it. As he picked it up, the lid flew off and cubed cheese was flung everywhere. Nathaniel was very sweet and helped me pick up all of the cheese. We found a trash can and disposed of all of the cheese on the floor. Unfortunately, the container was now missing half of the cheese. It was only a couple of dollars, so I asked the employee if we should just buy it, but she nicely said that she would take care of it.
-Right before Easter I was driving him to school, and Nathaniel yelled from the backseat "Jesus is Alive!" It was really funny and I can't believe I forgot to blog about it. They had been talking about Easter in Chapel.
-We've been having some rain lately, and I had to turn on the windshield wipers. Nathaniel thought they were so funny. He had a big belly laugh about them. Then he saw a car that had a wiper that was wiping the back window of the car and he told me we needed a back wiper as well.
-This has happened to me also, but happened to Neena when she was here. We were eating dinner, and Nathaniel said "Neena I love you so much." Neena very sweetly said that she loved him too. Then Nathaniel said, "Don't talk while you are chewing."
Our sweet boy keeps us hopping every day! He's so much fun and such a blessing.

Funny Boy
Lately I have had lots of funny conversations with my sweet boy that I have been meaning to write down.
One morning last week we wake up to hear "The train is coming! I hear it!" THE TRAIN IS COMING!" If you can imagine, this was in a very loud voice. Okay, it is pretty much yelling. There are train tracks down the street and a train had whistled and was traveling through. But this was probably 5:45 am. His ears are terrific.
Nathaniel pretty much wakes up going 100%. He's a jump-out-of-bed type of guy. He hits the ground running. He's not that kid that you have to help wake up. :)
Last week he was playing trains. He told me that Percy and another train were going to go camping and have a campfire and roast marshmallows. I sat down beside Nathaniel and said, "That sounds like fun, can I come too?"
Nathaniel said, "No mom. You're too old." I was shocked and said "What?" and started tickling him. We laughed for a while. Then he thought it was funny so he kept telling me I was old.
One day Nathaniel asked me if we could have a pet bird. I explained to him that it wouldn't be a good idea with the dogs, that the bird would be scared. So he asked for a pet elephant instead.
Love this boy!

The Talker
Although it makes me sad to see him grow, I also enjoy Nathaniel growing up because we have such fun conversations.
- The other day he unrolled the toilet paper (Which he knows not to do. Sometimes he just can't resist when we're getting ready in the morning). After his time-out, he came back and looked at the roll of toilet paper. I had rolled it back up to the best of my ability. He looks at it and says "That's not very good Mommy. Here let me help." He makes an adjustment and says "There. That's better."
- I overheard him singing "Jesus loves Me" over the monitor. It was quiet time, but he had gotten out his maracas and was singing and shaking and it was the cutest thing ever. I tried to call Will so he could hear, but by the time he answered Nathaniel had taken a break.
- He loves to name things. His favorite names right now are Skoogwa and Skeegwa. He made them up himself, I guess.

Talking, talking, talking
Nathaniel talks up a storm. We have some pretty interesting conversations. Here are a few:
- The other day I took him to get a haircut. As we drove home, he said, "Mom, I left my hairs at the haircut place."
- Reading in his Bible the other night about Moses and the Red Sea, and Nathaniel informs me it is not a red sea, but a blue sea. (It is a picture Bible). I told him he was somewhat correct.
- At school, his teachers read a book that has animals in it. They had read it once before. On the second reading, the teachers asked the kids what animal was on the page. All of the other kids said "bird" but Nathaniel said "whooping crane." I can't help it if he's a genius.
- Our friend had a newborn baby that Nathaniel and I got to meet last week. Last Friday morning when we were eating breakfast he was asking me about the baby. He asked if the baby liked to eat oatmeal. I told him the baby was too little for oatmeal, and she just ate milk for now. Nathaniel said, "Mom, babies DRINK milk, they don't eat it."

No ma'am Mommy!
The other night we were in the glider reading, then saying our prayers. Nathaniel likes to lay his head down on the armrest occasionally as we sing or pray. I happened to have my arm on the armrest and he looked at my arm and said "No ma'am Mommy!" as he tried to move my arm.
I have no idea where he came up with that, as I never say no ma'am. I'm guessing he heard a teacher say that to a little girl at school or Bible study. Anyways, it was really funny.
Then the next day we were eating oranges for lunch and he told me it was delicious. Nathaniel constantly keeps me on my toes, which is a good thing!
