The Little Boys start school

I don't know what happened . . . but the first day of school for the little boys I didn't get any pictures of them actually walking into school. Like I did with Nathaniel. First of all, because they didn't walk in - that would be too hard for me to chase them with all their stuff. I have to load them in the stroller to get them inside to their class. Getting 2 backpacks, lunches, sets of shoes, etc. took longer than planned. Nathaniel hadn't been feeling well over the weekend, and we'd been labeling stuff, and I was tired, so I had completely left my phone in the van and could get no pictures in their classroom. I'll work on that. But they had a great first day!

Seth wasn't as excited about the second day, but turns out he had an ear infection we didn't know about. We made an urgent care trip over the weekend and hopefully he will enjoy next week better.

First Day of School

I can't believe we made it here already - the first day of first grade! Nathaniel even combed his hair all by himself. The shocking thing is we had to wake Nathaniel up at 6:45 and the little boys were still asleep until 7. This never happened all summer. Just the first day of school. Go figure. :)

And look at how tall he is compared to last year!!! And Will did not get to cut his hair this year. :)

I know it's going to be a great year! He's had a great week so far, and LOVES his teacher. I'm so happy for him.

Last Day of Kindergarten

I can't believe Kindergarten is over. We have been so blessed to have such a fantastic year. He loved his teacher and all his new friends. Nathaniel's teacher told me that he got along well with everyone. She also said he was kind to others. We are so proud of him. He had a Kindergarten graduation, but it was pretty hectic so we did not take any pictures. We did take a few of us outside when we got home.

Got to wear his pjs to school the last day. And bring a stuffed animal.

The last day of school we went to a going-away party for our friends. We are so sad to see them go, but have been blessed by their friendship and the fun we've had together.

I love fall . . . I enjoy things from every season, but the weather here is so wonderful in fall.

Teeth-prize from Allergy Dr.

After Nathaniel finishes his work at school, he can draw pictures on the back of his worksheets (as seen above). I think his teacher encourages him to try and write what he has drawn. I love his attempts at spelling. I'm not sure which I like better - "sidewok" or "pmkins."

He got the vampire teeth as a prize after getting his flu shot. He didn't even realize he got the shot and didn't cry at all when the nurse gave it to him. However, the anticipation was killer. He ran out of the room when the nurse was ready to give the shot and I had to chase him to the lobby to get him and drag him back. He refused to sit in the chair and while I was holding him and trying to convince him to sit, the nurse just injected the shot in his arm. We had a good laugh after about how silly that was. Next year I will be reminding him of this. I will probably read this post to him next year.

Also, we built a swing set in our backyard. It took longer than planned, but Nathaniel helped Will and he had a great time. Nathaniel loves playing on it now - as you can see from picture in above post. We should have taken some pictures of the construction process, but I don't think we did.

First Day of Kindergarten

I can't believe it's here! What happened to summer? It flew by. We spent the weekend before school resting (as much as possible) and getting stuff ready. Last night Nathaniel and I made homemade pizza for dinner. Then we got everyone ready for bed early. Will had to run into work for some space station stuff. But all the boys went to bed and did great. Nathaniel was excited but finally asleep by 8. The little boys had their best night ever! Seth got up once, and Joel twice. I was so happy. At 6 am, Will and I got up. Will got ready for work, and I got ready, then got Nathaniel up and oatmeal made. I went to wake him up, and he sat up and said "Is it time for school already?" And I told him it was. He was so excited, he popped up and got dressed. We went to eat breakfast, then got the little boys ready. Finally it was time, Will and I said a prayer for Nathaniel then we all went outside to take pictures and wait for the bus. Oh, and we had a small mishap when Will was doing Nathaniel's haircut Saturday night. He used the wrong guard. So it was shorter than planned, but Nathaniel still loved it. Thankfully.

Will and I put him on the bus, then the little boys and I went to his school to see him in his classroom. His face when I walked in was so precious. His eyes lit up and he said hello. He was so happy to be playing with play-doh. He said the bus ride was great. I told him that the little boys and I would be waiting for him at the bus stop this afternoon. What a great first morning. Although I did have to park a long ways away from the school and load Seth and Joel in the stroller and walk. And talk about hot and humid . . .but it was so worth it and Seth and Joel were troopers. I've never seen so many parents and kids out for the first day of school. I don't think I'll ever forget today.

Yes, my eyes teared up as the bus pulled away and my sweet boy was waving. Will said I did much better than he thought I would. :)
