Going to Work

Nathaniel kept carrying around his tool kit and new garbage truck and waving at me and saying "bye-bye." Then he'd walk over to the gate. Finally I asked him if he was going to work, like Daddy, and he replied "mm-hmm," with a head nod, which means yes.

I can't believe how big he looks here. And I love his eagerness at toting his toys around.

Shoes, shoes, shoes

Nathaniel loves shoes - all of the time. One Sunday after church he put my shoes on and was very proud of himself. I love his expressions in these shots.

He also likes to accessorize with sunglasses.

In the Doghouse

I caught Nathaniel in Annie's bed this morning. Luckily she was outside and didn't see this. I don't think she would be pleased.

Next he climbed in Otis' bed, I guess to see if it felt any better. No pictures of that, because I was actually trying to get ready for the day. :)

What's New with Nathaniel

Many new developments are taking place around here. First of all, more words.
  1. Hippo
  2. Grass
  3. Backpack
  4. Spoon
  5. Beans
  6. Cat
  7. Street
  8. Church
And he has learned to play chase . . . lots of fun for us both. The first time we started we were chasing each other in a circle in our house, and he even stopped and turned the other way to try and get me. So smart already. Oh, and the new word that we don't like . . . "No." He has a pouting expression he uses when he tries to get his way. He really furrows his eyebrows. I haven't been able to get this on camera.

He also likes to play ball with me in the driveway in the evening. We are just starting to work on not going in the street . . . that is going to take a lot more work, I can tell.

Another thing he does now is yell "OFF!" He does this when he has food, or dirt, or a hair on his hands and he wants it off. He waves his hands in the air yelling "OFF" and it is actually pretty comical.

Gifts from Grandparents

Nathaniel was a lucky boy this past week - he got 2 boxes in the mail. One from each set of grandparents.

Box #1 - inside was a backpack! with matching lunch box.

And in box #2 - a lion stool!

Thanks again grandparents!

Cheering Up Dad

Will had pneumonia, and so Nathaniel and I have been doing lots of playing while he rests. One night before bed he decided to wear this hat, and put on a show for everyone.

I mean, how can this not cheer you up?

Uncle Les comes to visit

We were excited to have my Uncle Les come visit us. The first full day he was here we decided to go to Moody Gardens Palm Beach. We hadn't been before, but had a wonderful time. The stuff they have there is perfect for kids Nathaniel's age.

The wave pool was a hit

Les' Birthday Lunch

Swimming at at the pool

Eating Cheerios with Les (or stealing Cheerios from Les)

Reading with Les

Thanks for coming Uncle Les! We had a great visit.
