Picking Strawberries

The first time this year we went to pick strawberries, I forgot my camera. I remember we were wearing long sleeves. This time the weather was much warmer! Although the season is almost over. They opened for picking in December last year, because of the mild winter.

Note: I did not get any of the pictures I wanted of Nathaniel picking strawberries. He was most interested in holding one strawberry in his hand or touching smashed ones on the ground. And then wiping his strawberry hands on my shorts. He and Brooklyn weren't cut out for the manual labor. I took the little ones to the play area, and Reagan and Jodi and Will did the hard work of filling our buckets.

The little guys perked up once they were in the shade.
Nathaniel loved climbing on the raccoon.

I never could get Nathaniel to put his face in the strawberry.

Random Picture

Uploaded some pics from the camera and found this. I think Will took it. Hope it brightens your day!

Zoo trip

We hit the zoo with our friends last weekend. It was a beautiful spring day and we got to see a lot of the animals. Keith took these pictures, since I forgot my camera (of course). Here we are, ready to go.

Watching one of his favorites, the sea lions.

Nathaniel is still talking about the Meerkats.

We got to see the elephants getting a shower for a second time. Of course, when I said "elephant bath" Nathaniel corrected me and said it was an elephant shower. He is right.

I really think there have been more beautiful flowers this spring than any spring we have been in Houston. The weather has been really fantastic also.

I got to hold Livia for a brief second before she realized her mom was gone.

The tiger. He seemed to be pacing a lot when we saw him.

Snack at the bench by the tiger.

Sharing apples.

We had such a good time. I think I enjoy our zoo trips as much as Nathaniel!

Painting

Nathaniel and I spent last weekend together since Daddy was camping. Here is some painting we did:

Always the curious one, he tried to see what would happen if he stuck the other end in the water.

Easter Eggs

We did attempt to dye eggs during the Easter sickness weekend.

Feeling a little better and reading with Aunt Hillary.

Egg Hunt at School

I was able to go to Nathaniel's school to watch the egg hunt. So much fun to see all of the kids and their excitement. We've had a lot of rain, so the egg hunt had to be moved indoors since the grass was wet.

Found it!

With his buddy, Allie

As for Easter itself, I do not have any pictures. Nathaniel was very sick with a stomach bug. Unfortunately my parents and Aunt Hillary had flown in to celebrate Easter with us. So while we were glad to see them, we were very disappointed that Nathaniel was sick. It made for a pretty miserable Easter. No church or egg hunt.

To top it off, I got the bug later in the week. Next year will be better!
