Christmas Eve in Midland

What a wonderful Christmas. We took our annual West Texas Tour. First stop was Midland, and as soon as we got there it started snowing. Yes, we had a white Christmas! Nathaniel had lots of fun with cousin Laney, as you can see.

First time in snow!

Reading a book with Nana

I love Tate's expression in this picture.

Ready to open presents.

It snowed all night long.

Christmas morning.

Baking gingerbread cookies. One of the many fun activities that Nana had planned.

I wish these hadn't turned out quite so blurry. Anyways, good cousin picture. If only we'd had all of the cousins there! We missed Brad and Zach.

Christmas Party

Thursday was Nathaniel's Christmas party at school. Will and I both got to go, and we had a great time.

Time for a craft with Daddy

And back to eating . . .

We had such a good time! I just can't believe the year is almost over . . .

At the North Pole

Last weekend we went to a pancake breakfast at Nathaniel's school and Santa was there. We got to ride on the Polar Express to the North Pole. Here we are on the glorified golf cart (I think Nathaniel understood this was not a real train).

This happened today

I had a really hard time getting Nathaniel down for a nap, which is unusual, because he has been doing really well lately with going to sleep. After coming in and telling him not to pull books off his bookshelf (he can reach a few from his crib) I thought he was settled.

Ten minutes later I hear him saying "mommy, mommy." Finally I go in, and to my shock and horror he has taken his diaper off and peed in his crib on the sheets and blankets and out on the carpet too. He's looking at me and waving his diaper around.

After a talk about how we only pee-pee in our diaper or the potty, he seemed to think this was funny. He would say "pee pee" and laugh.

He did tell me he was sorry. When I told Will about what happened he laughed about it too. He suggested that I kept Nathaniel in pants, but good grief it was 80 degrees today - I took off his jeans from school so that he wouldn't get too hot. I ended up digging out out some shorts. Crazy weather . . . crazy day. At least I will probably laugh about this tomorrow.

Bed Head

Has your hair ever looked like this as you got out of bed? I couldn't resist taking this picture. My bed hair never looks this cute.

I love you

This past week, Nathaniel said "I love you" to me for the first time. And then he said it to his daddy. After a couple of days we heard "I love you, Mommy" and "I love you, Daddy." So sweet! He is starting to put more and more sentences together.

Children's Service at church

Today was the children's service at church and Nathaniel was on stage!!  He seemed to really enjoy it.  Take a look at the video.  BTW, Natalie is the one laughing :-)
